Nursery Manager (Newton)

We are looking for an experienced Manager to join our Newton location. Someone who is ready to get involved with the team at every level and can bring energy and enthusiasm to the position.

To manage the day to day running of the setting.

To ensure responsibility for the effective daily management of the nursery.

To have a sound knowledge of the company policies, procedures, and expectations

To have experience of OFSTED requirements and to continually work towards achieving an outstanding nursery

To conduct regular staff 1:1’s and encourage professional development within the team

Hold regular team meetings to ensure all teams are up to date with current laws and legislations and are working towards the nursery vision.

To inspire outstanding practice and share knowledge and understanding of children’s care, learning and development throughout your setting and across the Early Years’ sector.

To support, mentor and coach other practitioners in the knowledge, skills and behaviours that promote good outcomes for children.

Ensure that the setting provides a rich range of resources suitable for children of all ages, interests and abilities, taking account of diversity, equality and promoting inclusion

Support practitioners in acknowledging the various influences and transitions experienced by a child both inside and outside the setting. Liaise with schools and other settings

Consistently promote the rights of the child, have regard to and endeavour to meet the aims of the framework, relevant government legislation and policies that support children in their early years.

Establish and maintain a safe environment and employ practices that promote children’s health, safety and physical, mental and emotional well-being

Support and encourage Key Persons to have a solid knowledge and understanding of individual children’s needs, their family backgrounds and cultures.

Create and maintain a culture of collaborative and co-operative working with all practitioners in the setting. Provide opportunities to enable practitioners to contribute to the development of the setting, the Self Evaluation Form and other methods of evaluation.

Work alongside colleagues and other professionals to embed change where necessary based upon accurate and up to date pedagogy and wider global early years perspectives.

To support the Company’s commitment on safeguarding children in all aspects of the service.

To have a knowledge of and adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations.

Deputy Nursery Manager (Newton)

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join our Newton location. Someone who is ready to get involved with the team at every level and can bring energy and enthusiasm to the position.

To support the manager on a daily basis and deputise in the managers absence.

As Deputy Manager, your Responsibilities and Duties include (but are not limited to)

Work in partnership with children, parents and other professionals to improve the quality of Early Years’ provision, including physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care for children in the setting.

To inspire outstanding practice and share knowledge and understanding of children’s care, learning and development throughout your setting and across the Early Years’ sector.

To support, mentor and coach other practitioners in the knowledge, skills and behaviours that promote good outcomes for children.

Nursery Practitioner, Qualified to Level 3 or Above (Newton, Wigan, Foxhouse, Garston)

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of care and education for all children. We’re looking for somebody who is a passionate, caring, team player who loves working with children…

  • You must have a warm, smiling face that makes every child feel special and loved.
  • You must be able to laugh at jokes that you don’t understand, or you don’t find funny. Child humour can be a confusing minefield to navigate.
  • You will preferably have a little bit of quirkiness. If a child requests that you be a princess, you will be the best fairytale princess you can be.
  • The ability to sing in tune is not necessary, however, the ability to sing out of tune in front of a crowd is essential.
  • You must be able to distribute warm hugs as required.
  • Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of utmost importance.
  • Must be comfortable entering public places on the way home from work with unknown substances on your clothing.
  • You must also have a strong sense of smell to enable you to respond swiftly to said bodily functions.
  • You preferably do not have an aversion to an environment that at times resembles the aftermath of a tornado.
  • Pretending to eat playdough creations realistically is required, this is a skill that may develop with time and experience.
  • The ability to remember the names of many children, their parents, siblings, grandparents, pets, and special soft toys is a key component of this job.
  • You must feel comfortable sitting on furniture that does not contain all of your behind.
  • You must have the ability to read a ten page fairytale with at least one interruption per page.
  • You must be prepared to have a lot of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.
  • Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special, and important to many young children and their families. There is simply no other job quite like this.

Apprentice (Newton, Wigan, Foxhouse, Garston)

We're looking for enthusiastic Nursery Apprentices to join the Little Foxes Team! This is a paid role, where you can gain hands-on experience as you earn your qualifications.


🕑 8 Hours a Day, 5 Days a Week

We're looking for someone who...

  • You must have a warm, smiling face that makes every child feel special and loved.

Part Time Cleaner (Newton)

We’re looking for a Cleaner to ensure that standards of cleanliness are kept high throughout our nursery in Newton-le-Willows.

Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • You clean all areas of the day nursery including toilets, kitchen, play rooms, and staff areas
  • To clean all surfaces of the day nursery including carpets, lino, wooden floors, paintwork, tiles, and wallpaper
  • Report any maintenance issues that prevent safe and efficient cleaning of these areas.
  • To remove all bottles and recyclable materials to the relevant position or bin and ensure anything recyclable is recycled.
  • Ensure there are sufficient stock levels and correct equipment within the nursery, ensuring that shortages do not prevent cleaning.
  • Ensure all high and low-level dusting is completed.
  • To be committed to the safeguarding of all children
